Here are some of the questions I asked Kiki:
1. What events led to the idea to create your business, Kiki’s Crumbs?
2. How did you initially fund the startup and get things rolling?
3. When you first set out to start the business—-how did you want to be different in the market place.
4. How did you first learn about BNI?
5. How has your involvement with BNI changed the way you do business?
6. In addition to BNI—-I noticed that you have a blog. How has the internet figured into your marketing plans?
7. How do you manage the Mom/Business owner equation—-any words of wisdom for others in a similar situation.
8. What’s on the horizon for KIKI’s Crumbs?
9. What advice would you give to others that have the entrepreneurial bug and would like to start their own small business?
Kristen’s Story:
I started my company officially two years ago….the first year was just before Christmas…I was working at Cracker Barrell at the time and just looked to all my customers to drum up some business….which worked…then I found out about networking….which I love to do…I have grown considerably in the past two years….I now advertise on Magic 99.5…..I have a website and belong to many organizations around town…I work at Citadel Radio doing traffic in the afternoon…I have been in radio since I was 14.
I have been married for 2 and a half years….my husband has 3 children from his first marriage…they are 9,12, and 14….we have been together for 7 years…I am originally from New York and Massachusetts…I was on my way to California…working at KOB-TV…and I met my husband and decided to stay here.
